Whitechapel had a brother Frederick Clayworths shop too.<br />AndrewDrapersTripehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17252831386716700312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4060845208960850368.post-21106804598500217162022-11-01T12:28:47.071+00:002022-11-01T12:28:47.071+00:00I live on the corner of Woodford Rd and Forest Rd ...I live on the corner of Woodford Rd and Forest Rd which has been the family home since the 1940'S. I used to play on the bandstand near the old Angel Pond as a child when Capel Point was a bombsite as were similar sites in the Woodgrange Rd and attended Godwin Rd and Whitehall schools. I have always been interested in the local history of the Borough and have seen many changes in my 70 plus years. Being on the main route of the trolly bus the toilets were situated at the bottom of our garden in Forest Rd until they were demolished in the 80's. I used to go and watch the soldiers jumping out of the balloons training after the war.Good memories.I used to belong to the forest gate model boat club and used both the lakes .Keith Tuckernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4060845208960850368.post-43346977203075811232015-09-05T14:45:31.430+01:002015-09-05T14:45:31.430+01:00Great post.
